Jesus, our Creator God, came to this earth 2,000 years ago in the form of a human being just like us and taught us in detail the way to forgiveness of sins and eternal life. Among Jesus' many teachings, he spoke about food that perishes and food that endures for eternal life. He taught us not to work for food that perishes, but to work for food that lasts for eternal life.
John 6:27
Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval."
And he told us that the food for eternal life is Jesus himself.
John 6:32,35
Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven....
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.”
And Jesus promised through the Passover of the New Covenant that we could eat and drink the manna that came down from heaven, that is, the flesh and blood of Jesus, which is food for eternal life.
John 6:53-55

People eat food and drink water every day. These actions are necessary to sustain life, but they do not maintain eternal life.
So how can we live forever? In the Garden of Eden, we had to eat the tree of life to live eternally, and Jesus told us that we could live eternally by eating his flesh and drinking his blood. That method is the New Covenant Passover.
