This video gently re-examines a long-standing tradition in Christianity today. For centuries, the cross has been universally recognized as the symbol of the church. However, when we examine this strictly through the words of the Bible, we discover a logical yet surprising new perspective.
The video highlights an important point about how God views the making and worshiping of images. Let's look at the exact words recorded in the Scriptures.
Applying these verses objectively leads to a rational conclusion. History shows that the early church, established by Jesus and led by the Apostles, did not use the cross as a sacred symbol. At that time, the cross was simply a Roman tool of execution. It was only hundreds of years later, as the church gradually became secularized and absorbed the customs of pagan religions, that the cross was brought into the church and began to be revered.
According to the direct teachings of the Bible, setting up and worshiping an object made by human hands falls under the category of idolatry. The purpose of this post is not to criticize anyone, but to encourage basing our faith purely on the word of God, rather than on human traditions passed down for centuries.
I highly recommend verifying these biblical teachings for yourself. It will be a beautiful time of returning to the pure teachings of the early church.

Exodus 20:4-5 provides a very specific instruction:
"You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God..."
In Leviticus 26:1, the command is also clear:
"Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down before it. I am the Lord your God."
Furthermore, Deuteronomy 27:15 states:
"Cursed is anyone who makes an idol—a thing detestable to the Lord, the work of skilled hands—and sets it up in secret. Then all the people shall say, 'Amen!'"

For well over a thousand years, the cross has been placed inside churches for such a long period of time that many Christians have come to accept it as something natural and unquestionable. However, if we take even a little time to learn about its history, we can see that the cross was introduced from pagan religions and is a symbol of paganism. That is why there is absolutely no record in the Bible of worshiping the cross. People have been deceived by giving seemingly convincing reasons for a wrong religious symbol.
If we truly love Jesus, remember His sacrifice, repent of our sins, and sincerely hope for the kingdom of heaven, then we should break free from idolatry such as the cross. Following exactly what the Bible teaches—neither adding to nor taking away from the written Word—is the way that pleases God and the way that leads us to the kingdom of heaven.
This is a thought-provoking reminder that our faith should be based on God’s Word rather than traditions passed down by people. When we sincerely examine the Bible, we can better understand what true worship means and why God warns us against relying on images. May we all have humble hearts to follow the teachings of the early Church and seek the truth exactly as God revealed it in Scripture.
The cross is one of the idols that God detests. However, today, it is accepted and used as a symbol of the church. Rather than worshiping a visible cross, we should remember and keep the New Covenant Passover that God established, through which we participate in the precious blood of God shed on the cross.
According to historical records, the early Christian church did not use the image of the cross for hundreds of years. It was first erected in churches in AD 431. Furthermore, the Bible clearly instructs through the books of Exodus and Leviticus that no image should be made or set up as an object of faith.
Rather than accepting it uncritically simply because it is a long-standing custom, it is necessary to objectively verify the original teachings of the Bible. I hope this serves as an opportunity to deeply reflect on the essence of pure faith directly taught by the scriptures, rather than relying on visible, physical images.
Cross worship is not a biblical teaching. We should not serve the cross.
Although most churches consider it natural to display crosses, we need to take a moment to carefully think about the cross.
The cross was one of the idols that originated from paganism. If we learn about the origin of the cross, we will realize that it should never be used in worshiping God.
Since this is a matter concerning our salvation, I hope you will study this carefully and avoid the idolatry that God has commanded us not to practice.
Jesus was crucified on a cross and died for our salvation. However, does that mean we should make an image of the cross and use it as a religious symbol?
The Bible gives us a clear answer. “You shall not make for yourself an image…” — Exodus 20:4
And God continues: “You shall not bow down to them or worship them.” — Exodus 20:5
The Bible never teaches us to make an image of the instrument used in Jesus’ death and use it in worship. In fact, making and setting up a cross as a religious object can be understood as violating God’s command against making and worshiping images. Jesus taught us to follow His words and the New Covenant, not to worship a physical object. If we truly want to follow God’s will, we must follow what is written in the Scriptures—not human traditions.
