Why Is the Cross an Idol? l WMSCOG, Ahnsahnghong

<Why Is The Cross An Idol?>

You may wonder, “Why is there no cross in the Church of God?” It may seem strange.

However, there is a reason why the WMSCOG does not set up a cross.

Exodus 20:4–5

“You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything
in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
You shall not bow down to them or worship them.”

In this commandment, we can find three important points:

A. We must not make an idol for ourselves.
B. We must not make an idol in the form of anything.
C. We must not make an idol to bow down to or worship.

1) For this reason, the cross is an idol.

WHY?

=> The cross is an object in the shape of a T, and

=> it was made by people to ask God, who is invisible, for blessings.

=> People pray before it and place it on altars during worship services to God.

2) The WMSCOG does not set up crosses or any other idols, following the teachings of the Bible.

⇒ This is the reason why you cannot find a cross in the Church of God.
