What If Our Fixed Ideas Are Keeping Us From Knowing God? | WMSCOG

For centuries, people believed that the Earth was at the center of the universe. When heliocentrism challenged this belief, accepting a new truth could not have been easy.

Why? Because it was their own fixed ideas that clouded their vision.
The same can be true when it comes to God.
Many people believe in God the Father. But have you ever stopped and asked yourself:
“What does the Bible actually say?”

Genesis 1:26 says:
“Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
And verse 27 says:
“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”

If mankind was created in the image of God, and that image is revealed as male and female, could there be a Heavenly Mother whom we have never considered before?
The Bible gives us another clue:

“But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.”
— Galatians 4:26

Perhaps discovering the truth about God begins with something very simple:
Having the heart to look beyond what we have always believed.
Instead of asking, “What have I been taught?”
Ask:
“What does the Bible actually say?”
Open the Bible. Ask the question. And discover for yourself what the Scriptures reveal about Heavenly Mother.
