What did the Bible prophesy about the appearance of God who would come in the flesh?
Isa 53:1-2 Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.

Here both houses of Israel refer to those who claim to believe in God.
Why does God become a stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, a trap, and a snare to the people who say they believe in God?
It is because God comes as a human being just like one of us and has nothing in His appearance that makes us admire him.
So, those who only expect God to come with a glorious appearance, cannot help but stumble because of God.
